Install IPTV on an LG Smart TV
LG TVs run webOS, which has its own Content Store. The setup mirrors Samsung closely: install a player, link your playlist on the web, reload. No extra box required.
What you’ll use
Recommended player: Smart IPTV or IBO Player. Same players as Samsung in most cases. They take a device key plus your M3U URL.
Have your welcome email handy. It holds your server URL, username, password and M3U link. Not subscribed yet? Grab a plan first.
Step by step
Open the LG Content Store
Hit the home button, open the Content Store, and search for Smart IPTV or IBO Player.
Install and launch
Install the app and open it. Write down the device key or MAC address it displays.
Link your playlist on the web
From a phone or laptop, visit the player's site, enter the device key and add your M3U URL from the welcome email.
Restart the app
Reopen the app on the TV. It syncs the playlist and your channels appear.
Set it up your way
Arrange favourites and categories from the settings menu, then you are done.
Tips that save a headache
- webOS occasionally clears cached apps after a system update. If channels vanish, reopen the app and let it resync.
- A wired connection makes a real difference for prime-time sport on a big LG OLED.
- If the Content Store has no IPTV player for your region, a small Android box solves it cheaply.
Common questions
Will my older LG TV work?
If it runs webOS and the Content Store has a player, yes. Very old models without app support need an external box.
Is the player free?
Most have a free trial then a small one-time fee charged by the app maker, separate from your subscription.
Stuck on a step?
Support is on chat 24/7 and can walk you through it live. Most setups take under ten minutes.
