Set up IPTV on Android phone, TV or box
Android is the easy one. The player you want is right there in the Play Store, so there is no sideloading and no fiddling with settings. This works the same on a phone, a tablet, an Android TV and a cheap Android box.
What you’ll use
Recommended player: IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate. Both are free in the Play Store. TiviMate is the nicer experience on a TV, Smarters is fine everywhere.

Tips that save a headache
- On an Android TV box, plug in over Ethernet if you can. WiFi is fine for a phone but flaky boxes love a cable.
- Turn on hardware decoding in the player settings for smoother 4K on older boxes.
- Phones drop to a buffer wheel on weak mobile data. HD needs about 10 to 15 Mbps to stay smooth.
Common questions
Does this work on Android TV as well as phones?
Yes. The same apps and the same login work on Android phones, tablets, Android TV and Android boxes.
Can I cast from my phone to the TV?
You can, but installing the player directly on the TV or box gives a far better picture than casting.
