Install IPTV on Amazon Firestick & Fire TV
The Firestick is the cheapest way to turn any TV with an HDMI port into a full IPTV box. The one wrinkle is that the best player is not in the Amazon store, so you sideload it. That sounds scary and takes about three minutes.
What you’ll use
Recommended player: IPTV Smarters Pro (or TiviMate for a nicer guide). TiviMate has the best interface on Fire TV, but IPTV Smarters Pro is quicker to get going. Either works with your login.
Have your welcome email handy. It holds your server URL, username, password and M3U link. Not subscribed yet? Grab a plan first.
Step by step
Allow apps from unknown sources
Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, Developer Options, and switch on Apps from Unknown Sources. This is what lets you install a player that is not in the Amazon store.
Install the Downloader app
Search the Amazon Appstore for Downloader and install it. It is a free tool that fetches the player app for you.
Download your player
Open Downloader, type the player's download link in the address box, and let it install. For IPTV Smarters Pro the link is on the app's official site.
Open the player and log in
Launch the app, choose Login with Xtream Codes API, and enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome email.
Let the channels load
The full channel list, the guide and the on-demand library pull in on their own. Give it a minute the first time, then you are watching.
Tips that save a headache
- On the basic Firestick, high-bitrate 4K can stutter. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max handles it without breaking a sweat.
- Wired beats wireless. If you have an Ethernet adapter for the stick, use it for big live sport.
- If a stream freezes, back out and reopen the channel before assuming anything is wrong. It clears most hiccups.
Common questions
Do I have to jailbreak the Firestick?
No. Sideloading a normal player app is not jailbreaking. Nothing on the device gets modified.
Why isn't the player in the Amazon store?
Amazon does not list most third-party IPTV players, so you install it through Downloader instead. It is the standard route.
